Application Hosting

Application hosting is where we began in the hosting business. Finding the existing hosting providers couldn't provide the technologies and flexibility we needed as developers, we decided the best thing to do was host our applications ourselves - after all, we knew what we needed and how to do it, all we needed was a decent connection. A few years down the line and the application hosting market has matured considerably, but we still find the best way to get things done is to do it ourselves, even if that now means placing our applications "in the cloud" - we still maintain a tight control over what kind of cloud we use!

For our customers, this means they still get the highest levels of service, with precisely the resources and features their applications need with none of the overheads of management or administration. When we develop an application, our developers know they are not restricted by the capabilities of the hosting platform - we can just extend it. • Minimum of 2 Windows 2008 R2 Virtual Servers, with more nodes instantaneously available on demand using Virtual Machine Manager/Operations Manager/Configuration Manager.
• IIS7 running in configuration replication mode.
• Content directories replicated through DFS.  
• Hardware load balancing.
• Flood and attack/intrusion protection through ForeFront TMG.
• Antivirus provided by ForeFront
• Database layer provided by separate SQL cluster/mirror.
• End-to-End service monitoring provided by Operations Manager.
• Backup provided by Data Protection Manager.
• Support provided by MCAD accredited developers/MCP infrastructure engineers.
