What is the Cloud?

Cloud is everywhere. Put simply, it means your application (website or service) is hosted somewhere on some platform. Where or how it's hosted doesn't really matter, the main point is that it's available to everyone, all the time, something the cloud achieves by being massive.

When it comes to hosting, cloud as a concept has been around for years - most websites have always been hosted in the cloud to some extent, as most people didn't know where or how their website ran. What's changed is that in the past each application (or website) might have it's own server, or share a server with a number of other websites. When that server failed, the application failed. With cloud hosting now, a failure of an individual server, or even an entire datacenter doesn't mean the application fails too - it survives.

This has been a boon for developers - they no longer have to worry abut scaling an application (at least not in the same way). But for IT managers, the cloud represents a whole new set of issues. This is where we can help.

Exchange Cloud

In much the same way as SharePoint, running Exchange in the cloud makes a lot of sense - all the issues of storage space, connectivity, performance and availability are taken care of and replaced with one fixed per-user charge. Supported by Citric and hosted by Microsoft in a UK-based datacenter, you can also request features such as encryption and archiving. We'll perform the migration and required integration work, and if you require some in-house mailboxes to remain (e.g. accounts, legal), we can enable that too.

Deskless Workers

Private Cloud
